Question about SCAL

Someone told me that Provo Craft was coming up with some sort of block for SCAL. I am not really sure what it is but people who have not bought SCAL would not be able to get it without buying something from Provo Craft...Has anyone heard about this or have any info about it?

Below is a link to a post from PC. I have SCAL and since I have to choose between the two, I have chosen SCAL which means I will not be doing any of the updates to the DSS software. I have found that with the SCAL/Inkscape duo, I can actually cut whatever I want to cut...not just what someone has put on a cartridge.

Okay, I have yet to find anything from PC about putting out something that will block SCAL, other than rumors. If you have information that is reliable about this can you please post it??
The link that was given does NOT say that PC is putting out anything that will block SCAL and that we have to decide between DS and SCAL. It simply states that they can not, and actually I don't beleive they should be asked to, support the 3rd party software (SCAL), and helping you get your machine working again.
I have both programs, and haven't had any trouble with either of them, that couldn't be traced back to operator error. (I didn't know what I was doing with the program) It didn't have anything to do with the programs or my machine not working correctly.
