Welding and nudging when word is grouped

Post by Tinkiebug »

Hello all.

This is probably a stupid question, but I was playing around on SCAL (I'm still new at SCAL) and saw that when a word is grouped, I can not nudge the letters closer together to weld them (like you can do in Cricut Design Studio). When I click the nudge arrows, the whole word moves and then I have to ungroup them to nudge the letters close together to weld them. Therefore if I want to create a shadow for a whole welded word, I have to create a shadow for each letter separately because I ungrouped the word to weld them (hope this makes sense). Is this the way it is suppose to be or am I just missing something.

Thanks for your help.

Regards

Use the tracking control to move all the letters closer together while the word is still grouped and see if that will give you what you want.

If tracking doesn't give you a results that you like, you can select the whole word again by drawing a selection box around it. Then you can group it again and shadow the whole word with one selection. HTH
