Hello. I am completely new to SCAL. I purchased the software, but am unsure how to use it. I feel really stupid. Is there somewhere that I can read that give step by step instructions as to how to use this program?
Also how do you convert files to SVG files. Now, I have read about svg files in several places. Is that where you can convert images to an svg file and then cut it with your cricut?
I have also read about inkscape. What do you use inkskape for?
I know you will probably laugh when you read these questions, but I simply do not know what to do or where to start. Usually I am able to figure out how something work, but with this I feel like a complete idiot. So, I'm really sorry if I'm wasting anyone's time.
I have downloaded some fonts and dingbats and now want to start using it, but have no clue how to do it.
I have played around with the program yesterday, but I simply couldn't find how to make a shadow, etc.
Also, I have downloaded the trial version previously (which is valid for 10 days). Yesterday I purchased SCAL and then entered my activation key to activate the program. Do I need to download something else, or is the trial version that I downloaded the correct (and only) one to start working on?
I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks a lot.
Regards

Start here: http://www.scrappingtable.com/home.html
Also, HeatherM's blog has some good tutorials: http://imagesbyheatherm.wordpress.com/m ... tutorials/ but they are more advanced topics than how to use the software.
If you can't figure out how to just use SCAL, I wouldn't worry about Inkscape yet. It is a drawing program that lets you create .svg files for SCAL to cut. But you need to be very comfortable with SCAL before moving on to that.

P.S. It'd be nice if there was a sticky topic for tutorial links and newbie instructions. The "Newbie" forum doesn't really seem to address this.
