Stuck on the magnifying glass thing.

This is a teddy bear from my clip art collection. I am posting it so you guys can see it...I know you won't download it because it might be copyright infringements (just kidding).

Question for you: I have downloaded the .svg file. I want to do a increase the black background just a tad to create a litte more of a black base. I've tried selecting the black element and then using "dynamic edge" in Inkscape - but I don't get any discernable difference. What am I not doing correctly?

I am not sure what dynamic edge is. I have never used that function. If you want to make the blackout larger, just enlarge it by the arrows. If you hold down CTRL while moving the corner arrows, it will be proportional. In the new version of Inkscape, I noticed a lock so you can use that to do proportional scaling.

Be careful the layers fit once you do your scaling. This bear doesn't have a lot of white space as others do but when layering, you need to keep the pieces scaled to fit or any white spaces might be lost. For instance, the white dot on the bear is highlights for his eyes. If you make the blackout disproportionate to the layers, who knows where the white spot will be when you finish. You might want to make the layers smaller first. You can always work with it in Inkscape, size it and then import it into SCAL.

The magnifying glass was already in his hand...I guess I should have named him Sherlock Bear.

Another great file that I found and I didn't need a magnifying glass.
