Craft Edge

My nephew has a tattoo that he wants me to turn into svg so i can cut it out. I am trying but not doing to good ; can someone please explain to me what i have to do .
I took a picture of the tattoo with my digital camera but when i open it in inkscape it doesnt trace the image ... Please help me..

Did you select the photo, then Path/Trace bitmap? If your trace is too dark with too much of the skin tracing, try decreasing the Brightness cutoff threshold. If not enough is tracing, try increasing the threshold. If there isn't good enough contrast you may need to use the Bezier tool to get a good vector. If you need more help you will probably need to post the photo. HTH
