HELP WITH MAKING MULTIPLE ITEMS

Good Morning everyone, I'm new to this forum but thought it was best to get my help here instead of on the cricut MB.

I'm attempting to create a file for a flower petal that I want to cut more than one of. I have managed to get 6 petals but need to have 8. With copy and paste I got this far. I've taken a spade shape and welded it to a rectangle. I have to change the spade to a blackout and keep the rectangle normal to get the cut that I want. I'm not exactly sure how I managed to get my first 6 so they work so creating the next 2 is giving me grief. I know for a fact that I copied them all in using normal then changed the spades to blackout. Now I try to copy 2 more spades in and when I change them to blackout, they disappear.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???? Is there an easier way to do this?

Thanks
Wendy

Are you working in SCAL1, SCAL2 or Inkscape?

Posting a file so someone could play with it for you would help.

Good luck!

I've tried to attach the file I'm playing with. I did get the single petals file to work, but now when trying to put them together, I again can't get it to work. I thought I had it but now I'm clueless again. This is a really pretty flower when done...GGGRRRRR. The first section works correctly but the second section would cut wrong!!

Let me know if it's not attached. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if I attached the saved file I've been playing with so here is the correct attachment this time just in case!!

Ok, I managed to get 8 petals, get it all sized and have the cutest sunflower now. I still don't understand how to get the copy and paste to work when I'm welding though.

When I change the spade to blackout, it totally disappears....why does this do this?

I'm in SCAL1....I did forget to mention that!!
