Paths won't work

When I go to Paths the image does not show in the box and when I go to Trace Bitmap nothing shows either. I do hit update. Without this step I cannot Ungroup. Any suggestions ?? Thanks.

What exactly are you trying to do? You say that when you go to Paths the image does not show in the box and Trace bitmap shows nothing. Did you use the selection select your image first? What kind of image do you have (line art, silhouette, color, grayscale, etc.)

Yes I had the image selected. The image is a jpeg that I converted into a svg following the ScrappyDew tutorial on YouTube. I am trying to ungroup to paper piece.

If it is already converted to Path,
Select the vector (Path)
Look at the message bar at the bottom of the Inkscape window to confirm that it is a Path and not a "Group" or "Image"
From the menu, Path/Break apart
The trace bitmap won't work when your selection is already a Path. HTH
