I want to make stencils with chipboard but can't invert the design. A stencil feature would be great.

You don't need to invert the design. When you cut a file it is just like a punch, you get both a positive and a negative. Just remove the inner pieces and you will have a stencil. HTH

I'm not sure what you mean by taking the inner pieces out. Is this possible in SCAL or do you need to use Inkscape. Thanks Heather

You make your cut, then you have your inner pieces and the paper framework around them. When you pull the outer paper or chipboard off the mat, you will have a stencil, or negative image.

After reading your reply I realized we were talking about two different things. I was wondering about stencil letters and cutting a part out.
