I am having problems adding text to a project and breaking items apart. I can do it on my computer running WinXp, but I am trying to do it on my laptop using Vista. I have un installed and reinstalled Inkscape several times, but cannot figure out the problem. Please help.
TIA,
Labs Nana

Try changing the setting for INK to the WindowsXP compatibility mode. Right click on the icon for INK, left click on Properties, left on Compatibility and change it to WindowsXP.

I was told by a friend (I was complaining about how Vista was running) that Vista's auto updater will run when not noticed. When this happens graphics as well as other programs will go into a standstil til the update is over. He suggested turning off the auto updater. Of course don't forget to do a manuel windows update to replace what you might not know is out there. I did however notice today they are starting to advertise Window 7. Guess they got tired of the heat over the problems that Vista caused.
