We created this tutorial for the beginner on how to get those downloaded fonts to be recognized in SCAL. Some already know how to do this but others may not. We just uploaded this other day to YouTube.

This tutorial will show you in 3 minutes, explaining two different methods on how to get new fonts you downloaded and use them in SCAL (Windows Version).

Keep in mind if you install too many fonts using the Font Folder method other programs such as WORD and programs that are like that may take longer to load, because it's initializing all the fonts that are installed in that Folder.

So keep in mind the first method in the video we show would work well if you're only going to use the font once or twice.

So all fonts must be in the Windows/Fonts folder to be used? We can no longer have them somewhere else on our hard drive?

I have over 3000 fonts in a separate directory under The Font Thing. I'm assuming that now when I want to use one of those fonts, I'll have to copy it into my Font directory. Is that correct?

No you don't have to install them all. I don't use Font Thing, but I do have a separate folder with fonts that I might use or only rarely use. I just open them and then the program I want to use them in. You don't even have to open them first with SCAL since it has a refresh fonts button (the circular arrow beneath the fonts drop down box). I just tried it out in 2.0 and it still works. HTH
