Just put up a post on my blog about how to use MSWord AND bypass Inkscape for curved/circular text.

If you tried this unsuccessfully, I apologize. A problem was graciously pointed out to me, which I have now corrected with a simple additional step. Please try again.

Thanks for this great information. I've been trying to do this for a while now but just couldn't get it down. Your directions make it so easy.
The majority of my questions concerning SCAL have been answered by just reading this forum. Thanks again! Patsy1st

Thank you so much! I actually did mine in Publisher - I like to so much better than word - and it turned out perfectly! I did try the first time w/o the new step and it didn't work out right - but now it does :)

Thanks again,
Cathy

Cathy,
Thank you so much for reporting back, and for reminding me that the WordArt feature is also in MSPublisher. I should also mention its in Excel and Powerpoint, too, as well as MSWorks versions earlier than 8.5. Might be worth picking an a bargain bin or ebay copy of works or publisher just for this feature.

Thank you for this tip plus the link to SVG Factory. MS Word and the SVG Factory worked really well together for me.
I see if you use the AutoShapes in MS Word the person who was looking for Callouts would have a good selection to pick from without having to use Inkscape or download fonts.

Thanks again
