Thumb drives (portable USB flash drives) are so cheap now that a lot of us use those. Just download to that and then carry it with you to whatever machine you are using. There is software that will let you sync a folder or folders between 2 machines. That is another option. Check under accessories to see if you already have something like that.

I have a 1TB portable hard drive that I switch between several computers. It's actually quite small and I have my programs installed on it, rather than the computer, so I can be creative anywhere.

the FREE way: If you're running PC's there's a network that you can set up between comps that lets you share everything between computers. My mom has hers set up so that she can access her comp at work from her home laptop. Then, I set up one for my grandparents while I was down visiting so that they could stop fighting over who gets to use the printer that's only hooked up to one comp. The steps are so easy to follow!
the CHEAP way: I just know that a lot of people leave their houses with their flash drives and have lost them. That's scary to me that if you have delete it off your comp then take it somewhere EVERYTHING is gone if you lose it!
the NOT-SO-CHEAP way (and the one I have): I got a 500GB external HD at Target or Best Buy for $88. They go on sale right around Tax time so it's a perfect time to get one. I put everything I want on it and I have even taken that on vacation with me--in MY CARRY-ON--so that I can keep things like movies, music, pictures, SCAL stuff, and ancestry docs I've downloaded.

I like the idea of the separate hard drive and installing programs to that drive.
When I travel for work I have inkscape on my work laptop. I create svg's when I travel. I usually just email my svg files back to my home computer by emailing them to my gmail account. Simple and I can always find them.

So....can we install Sure Cuts Alot on our external hard drives? But all of the fonts would still need to on the reg c: drive right? Or whatever the internal hard drive is.....
I sure wish I could direct my sure cuts alot to read my fonts from my external HD instead of having them all installed on my reg one....

I have a desktop running Windows XP (upstairs), and a laptop running Vista (downstairs). I have them networked so that I can drag and drop files from one to another, or work on the desktop via the laptop etc. Vista also has the ability to transfer files easily I believe, but haven't tried as the way I do it is hassle free. Don't try mending it if it aint broke!
