A Long card

I made this card for my dad's birthday.

I took the inspiration for it from a post on the Cricut message board by KatesaCraftyBugger

Kate cuts the spaces around the letters by hand but I wanted my cricut machine to do it all for me if I could so I made it in Inkscape and imported it into SCAL for cutting. Using the shadow feature in Inkscape gave me the different thicknesses of the letters. I then put a rectangle page at the end for a message. I used my 12 x 24 inch mat and paper so was able to cut it all out of one piece of card - each letter was about 6 x 4 inches in size - just fitted into a standard envelope.

I saw that post and had the same thought, but never tried it. It really turned out great! TFS

Thank you - I made it in a hurry so there are a few things I would change slightly - mainly the lining up of the fold lines better, but I was happy with a first attempt.
