HELP

I PURCHASED SCAL LAST NIGHT AND I KEEP GETTING " AN ERROR OCCURED WHILE TRYING TO CUT" I HAVE TRIED THE CRICUT PROGRAM AND THAT PRINTS FINE.

I'm a newbie too. I forgot to put a cricut cartridge for the scal to work. make sure you have one plugged.

Make sure the USB cable is plugged directly into the computer and not a hub. What are you trying to cut? If it is an SVG file, make sure you choose File -> Import SVG and NOT File -> Open. If you are importing an SVG file, it's possible it is not a good file to cut - if there are layers left in the design, it will not cut. Try entering a word directly in SCAL and see if that will cut. Of course, try turning off the Cricut, shut down the computer, boot up the computer and turn on the Cricut. Certainly do the latter if you unplug the Cricut from a hub to the computer. Another thing to try is turning off your virus scanner if you have one before opening SCAL. Sometimes virus scanners interfere.
