Having hard time with this.

Post by Linda »

I am trying to make a decal that looks like the one in the picture attached. I'm not getting paid for this, doing it for my daughter in-law. After hours and hours of working on this, the snip it, shows where I"m at now. How would I get the bottom edge of the bottom shadow to line up nicely like in the picture? Is there a reason the bottom shadow of the k is squared off? Any tips, help would be greatly appreciated. I also had a terrible time when making the different size shadows that the insides of the a's r's etc. wouldn't move with the rest of the layer. I can't even begin to figure the steps I took to get to where I'm at now!! This decal will go on a tractor that my daughter in-law will be racing in 19 county fairs.

Linda, if you can post the file here someone will take a look and provide feedback.

Are you using SCAL2 or SCAL3?

I am using scal 3. Here is the file. I have many pages since I kept trying different ways of doing this. It won't let me upload. Says file is too large.

Ok, I delete two of the pages. I will try again! It still won't let me upload. There is nothing else I want to delete from the file. It is just two pages. One has the banner shape and the other is what I posted.

Save it as an SVG file and post.

I downloaded the SVG file, but I can't open it for some reason. It says the file is invalid. I also tried to open it with Safari and the file is blank. Not sure what's wrong with the file. Can anybody else open it with Inkscape or Illustrator?

Tried saving it again to see if that will help.

I can't open any of the ones I exported to svg in scal3 or inkscape. Not sure what I could have done wrong.

Cut and paste just the word into a new SCAL file and try exporting that. No shadows or anything, just the Park Acres.
