I created a word book in inkscape and want to cut out the smaller versions of just the letters to put on eack page. Does anyone know how I could do this?

Break the file apart so that you can select the individual letters, then you can make the letters smaller by clicking on inset in the path dropdown menu. Conversely, you can make shadows by clicking on outset.

That depends on if you used path/union or path combine. I made the mistake with my first one of using path/union before I had everything the way I liked it and then my extra letters didn't match up anymore. The second try, I arranged all the letters how I liked them, including the finished length of the book. Then I made the extra set of letters for the inset.
