importing from inkscape

Post by CAROL »

Hi all - I am totally new and soooo excited I was up until 2 am last night reading reading and reading inkscape and scal I finally got a great inscape project saved of a quote written out in swirl pattern. It only imports the swirl outline - Help. Also I haven't had any luck importing anything from inkscape i get empty boxes. I've tried some svgs from your forum imported them and they worked. But i really want to make my own. Please help. thanks

Hello:
You'll love the program :) . two questions and they are. Did you make the designs in Inkscape or did someone else. If you will post the svg file or the link I'll look at it. And two things to remember. If they are svg files you "open" them in Inkscape and "import them in SCAL. It is possible that they were not properly converted into svg files.

Another thought is that you didn't choose "Path" then "Object to Path" in Inkscape. You must do this with ANYTHING you want cut out. Then, in Sure Cuts a Lot, "File" then "Import". Hope this helps...

I can't believe how quick you guys are - wow. Yes it is my own design in inkscape - I will try the path and object to path. Crossing fingers.....
