Hi,
Does anyone know how to go about installing the X11 plug in for mac that is necessary to run Inkscape?
I'm running OS X version 10.5.6.
Thanks for your time and expertise.

Hi, welcome.
It has been so long since I dealt with this issue (last April I think) that I don't remember how I did it.
Try this link:
http://developer.apple.com/opensource/t ... ngx11.html
I have downloaded 3 versions of Inkscape since I got X11 working and have no problems, so if you persist it will work.
sorry that I can't be more help.

Evelyn,
For your OSX you should have an install disk. Insert the disk and choose the 'Optional Installs' Icon. This will launch the installer. Click through the first few prompts (agreements and such) until you come to the screen that lists the install options. The first option (on my disk) says "Applications". Click the arrow next to the word Applications to expand the menu. In this newly expanded section you will find X11. Click the box next to X11 and continue the install. IF your software detects that you need an upgrade, just accept the upgrade (this comes from the Apple website so you need to be online.) You might not need to do this after the install.
Hope this helps

Hi! I am new here, but I just dealt with this issue a couple of days ago. I am also running a Mac with 10.5.6. I had never even heard of X11, but it was there on my computer, with the latest version. I found it under Applications/Utilities/X11. Check there and see if you already have it.

Thanks, everyone.
I checked my applications, utilities and I do have X11 version 2.1.5. I guess that's right. The only thing it doesn't say is "XQuartz." I'll download Inkscape and give it a try!
