When you design something in SCAL and save it, it will save as a .SCUT file.
If you make something in Inkscape and save it, it will be a .svg file and if you make something in DS then it will be a .cut file.

Thank you. As a total newbie I was wondering the same. After reading some comments I think that you are all talking in a different language! I can't wait for the day my light bulb goes on and it all becomes clear and I understand the terminology. lol

Well don't feel stupid. I deleted a lot of scut files because I couldn't import them into SCAL. I just discovered that all you have to do is go to the open file feature in SCAL and there they are. Boy did I feel dumb. And I'm not a newbie!

hehehe So very glad I'm not alone in doing that, I've deleted so many of them for the same reason, then had the light bulb moment and clicked "Open Project" omg there they were, well what was left of them anyway lol :D
