I know that the Cricut Create has several advantages over the Cricut Personal, but do those advantages become moot when you add the Sure Cuts a Lot Software? In other words, is a Cricut Personal + Sure Cuts a Lot software just as good as a Cricut Create + SCAL software, or should I buy the Cricut Create?

I have outgrown my little Cricut and am wishing for one with the 12x12 mat so I can cut bigger things. It all depends on what you will be cutting for mostly. I usually make 5x7 greeting cards and now want to cut one of the edges of the cards which I can't do with the little Cricut.

If you have sure cuts alot you don't need anything else. Just buy the cricut personal cutter or the expression. I upgraded to the expression about a year ago and love it love it love it.

So if I have Sure Cuts a Lot, there's *no* advantage that the Create has over the Personal?

I wish you had replied sooner, as I ended up buying the Create today. I suppose it was still not a bad deal, though, as I got it at Michael's and they had it on sale for $200, plus there was a special "Cyber Monday" 15% off coupon, so I got it for $170 plus tax. Oh well, hopefully my wife will enjoy it.
