Craft Edge

I am using SCAL2 and trying to print a jpeg or jif image and then cut it out in a shape. The problem I am having is every image I place on the virtual mat is displayed with a grey box around it. The box also prints out with the image. Am I choosing the wrong types of clipart or can I get rid of the grey box. I want a clean image so that I can cut a circle around it for making banners. Thanks!

It is all in how the picture image was saved. Usually when I make a picture file...I put a white square behind it and take a snip so the background is white and won't print. You could try to crop the picture very close to the edge of the image and maybe that will help. Or, you can trace the picture and recolor it and then put the what rectangle behind it and take a snip or export .png.
