double lines

[attachment=0]frog bookmark I drew this and scanned it into scal. When I trace I get double lines at mouth, eyes, ect. How Can I fix this?

Hi, it would be easier to answer your question if you could attach the SCAL file, then detailed steps can be given for the exact image. The jpg attachment will introduce some more stuff and get in the way of a good answer.

Hi,

A couple of suggestions.

To get rid of the double line

Select the object
Path/break apart. You now have two images, drag one off. You should have the outline and the original with the face.
You can use the second one as a mat/shadow by selecting it and from the appearance panel change the "style" from normal to shadow....the amount can be adjusted to suit.

NOW, there are about a gazillion nodes in the image that will make it cut jagged. Select the original image and do a path/simplify. You'll see a pop up window showing how many there are and how many it will be....I did it twice to get it as smooth as I could.

I can't cut it since I don't have a cricut anymore but it should at least get you a useable cut. I'm not positive if the mouth will cut the way you want it too, probably depends on the size you cut at.
