Help Plz!!! Want to cut Dingbat drawn with double lines.

I'm wanting to cut a dingbat image that has double lines on it. To get it into Inkscape, the only way I know is to type it in as a 'text' object. I save it as .svg and try to import it into SCAL and it doesn't show up. How do you clean up dingbats?
I'm really new at this, so even the most basic suggestions would be greatly appreciated! TIA, Karen

can you post a link to the dingbat & which one you want? how complicated is the design & how soon do you need it?

if it's simple, i can do it now. I can't help with a complicated design right now.

After you type in INK, you will have to select it and then Path>Object to Path

If you don't do this, it will show an empty box when opened in SCAL.
