I am a newbie & have probably bitten off more than i can chew..but here goes.. I have copied my templates onto A4 sheets scanned them into computer folder, in scal2 i trace image & it not only blows my A4 page up bigger than 12 x 12 board but my problem is it traces 2 lines round templates,therefore cricut expresion cuts 2 lines, my project is a 3d item so i need the pieces to stay the same size so they fit together, hope this makes sense, can anyone help i've spent 2 days trying & watching video tutorials. I am going crazy..lol

If you post the scanned files, or where you found the templates, I am sure someone could help more.

If you open your files in a paint program, such as paint.net, you will need to use the paint fill bucket function and black in your designs. Save that, and then open it up to trace. It should fix the problem of double lines.

go to View and Fit to Window to see your project more clearly and then put an box around it an resize with the lower right handle and check the Keep Proportions box in the Properties Panel.

Thankyou for the advice, i will have a go at the paint option & see if that works, then i'll tackle the re-sizing. I have the files zipped that i could email to someone to show what i'm working with, but don't know how to post the folder sorry

If you are getting double lines in scal from your image just use the break apart feature and delete one of the layers.. This seems to be a glitch with a lot of scanned items..

It's not a glitch... The tracing feature, whether in SCAL, Inkscape, etc., traces all lines. This is why you get double lines on an image that is not a solid color. It is tracing both the inside of the line, and the outside of the line.

That is what I was trying to get at.. Sorry. .I worded it wrong..
