I am new to SCA and trying to figure out the ins and outs to it. My question is when designing something into Inkscape, I am able to put it into a SVG file. But when opening it up into SCA it is blank. What am I doing wrong? If I download someone else svg. file it works fine.

Im very new to this too so not sure if this is right, but are you hitting *Save As* when you save? That converts it to the SVG file

you first have to highlight what you have created in inkscape
choose path
object to path
then path union
then save as svg file

Before you save the file for the last time before closing it, you have to convert the design to an object. Do this by selecting all parts of the design (CTRL+A) and then Path>Object to Path...still selected, go to Path>Union and then save the file. It is now ready to be used in SCAL.
The reason I said "the last time" is because once you convert to an object, making changes is hard. Once it is an object, you have to work with nodes in order to make changes...very challenging until you get the hang of it.
