Cut without a shadow?

Hi

I am very new to the cricut and SCAL (when I say new, I mean my Cricut will arrive on Tuesday!) I have already bought SCAL and have been making SVG files with Inkscape by downloading colouring pages. Is it possible to make an SVG without having a shadow? All the SVG files I have made look like a cartoon. Is there a way to make them more like how a sizzix die would cut? I'm not sure if this is a silly question!
Thanks so much!

Not a silly question as this is one of the first things most people ask. SCAL is tracing the transition from light to dark so it traces both the inside and outside lines. Your cutout will look like the drawing you trace. To fix that cartoon look, you can either start with solid silhouettes instead of line drawings or you can delete the outer line and leave just the inner sections of a coloring page. Not all of them lend themselves to that, but many do.
