After all the fun of the past two days making clothes I wanted to cut them out. I don't have much room or money to buy all the different background papers so I've been making my own anyway. Lightbulb went off this morning.

Why not use "place image" and print my checkerboard , then cut my image out of the printed paper. And if I could do that could I set up all my paper and images and print and cut them all at once....the answer if Yes YOU CAN.

The checkerboard paper is a placed .png image with no white space. The black and flesh colors are just from the shapes table filled in. I lined up my printed paper right to the top and right side edges of the mat (on the dotted lines). I gave myself some wiggle room for the cutting just in case my printer/cutter is a little off.

Picture worth a thousand words.

Sue,
I have been doing this with scrapcoloring.com through a very contorted process, but now it will be so much easier with place in SCAL. Thanks for posting this.
