Getting an SVG

When I find the picture I want to use it will not let me save it as a SVG will only let me save as bitmap or a png? what do I do know?

no...sorry I'm new at this. So if I find a picture I like on the internet what is the steps I'm suppose to do then. I thought I just saved and wallah!

Go to the tutorials section here on the homepage.. There are some fabulous tutorials on there and youtube...

Umm no, Tweety, but it is pretty easy (provided you've selected a cut-friendly image). Open SCAL and click the image button, navigate to the jpg or png you saved, adjust settings as necessary in the dialog box that appears (defaults work fine for silhouettes and simple high contrast images) and click OK. That's it, your image is ready to cut. If you want to save it as an SVG you can under File>Export, but that isn't necessary.
