I am trying to convert a GSD file to SVG. I saved the image and opened it in Inkscape, then saved it as an .SVG file. When I try to import it to SCAL, I get a blank red square. It is a silhouette image, so I do not think I need to do any editing, am I wrong? BTW it shows up as an .svg in the folder I am viewing in SCAL.

I tried reading through other posts, but I did not see anything that I thought would help.

Please, can anyone let me know what I am doing wrong. I would really appreciate it.

After you open the image in Inkscape, you will need to trace the image using Path>Trace Bitmap. Then you will need to delete the original image (sometimes it is hard to tell which is the original...if I can't easily tell, I select the and move one of the images because they are on top of each other using the first tool (you will have arrows around the image); then I choose the second tool and if nodes appear (lots of small squares) that is the one you need so you can delete the other one...if no nodes appear, then you can delete that image. Now you do File>Save

I have tried to save gsd files so that I could convert them, but inkscape won't open them. How do I save a gsd file??

There is talk on another MB I frequent about software that will convert gsd to svg. The software is about 35.00. I downloaded the free RoboMaster software, open gsd, print screen, open in graphic software and save as jpg, open in Inkscape and trace. It's a lot of steps but I am not in a postition to spend 34.00 on software right now.

Do you have to have Adobe Illustrator to us Robomaster??

I have not used the Help but all I do is open GSD file, print Screen.
