I want to purchase some graphic design cd's that have .wmf files. I have not downloaded inkscape, but if I did can I change these designs to .svg files?

Thanks. Lynda

.wmf files appear to be supported by Inkscape Import function.

Inkscape can import ai files. I don't know the file extension for Corel so I can't tell about those, but I would bet yes. I suggest you download Inkscape (it isn't hard at all), then click on File, Import. That will open a window where you can locate the file you want to import. In the lower right-hand corner is a drop-down list that defaults with All Inkscape Files. If you click on it, you can see all of the different file types that Inkscape can import.

Thanks! I am wanting to buy some files that are in these extensions. The seller is going to send me a sample and I have downloaded inkscape to try to import and change them in.

I will let you know if it works.

:D I have posted this before, but still unsure about all the files but the wmf files that I have found, all you have to do is open, not import, in inkscape and they are ready to seperate. Like I said I don't know about all of them but the ones I have on cd and found on the net come ready to select and pull apart Just remember use the open option not the import.

Try opening the ai file in Inkscape.

I tried to open it in inkscape and it didn't work, and I tried importing it in inkscape and it didn't work either.

hmm, not sure then. I have run across ai files that import or open in Inkscape and some that don't. I don't know what the difference is.
