Craft Edge

I am trying to break this apart and am unable to do so in inkscape
I am not so worried about the lettering.
I am afraid the symbol is unbreakable and if so can anyone make two seperate
symbols that I could then put together?

Todd, that looks absolutely perfect, I will let you know when I cut it out later today.
I just started working at this school and was wanting to do something with their logo.
