Help from the vinyl experts

I have been using my Expression for cutting vinyl for the past year or so. The settings have been: Blade 6, Speed High, Pressure Max. These settings have been perfect. I have not cut anything for a few months and went to cut yesterday. The vinyl was cut right through the backing. The only thing that is different is a more recent version of SCAL, which I do not believe has anything to do with this. I lowered the pressure no change, I move the blade to 5 no change.
Does anyone have any idea as to why my results changed in the 1st place and also what settings are you using with the E for vinyl.

Thanks goodness I was only cutting something for myself and not to sell.

Thanks :o :o

Not sure why your settings changed. My setting are always 3-3-3 and it gives me a perfect kiss cut with vinyl. Hope you get it figured out!!

I usually use 3-3-3 for vinyl, but find that sometimes when I use the Cricut it does cut deeper. Trial & error is all I can suggest.

I use 3-3-3 for a new blade and as my blade dulls I have to change the blade depth to 4, but that's it.

AC,
If you had to have it on full blade depth and full pressure to kiss cut vinyl, how did you cut through card stock? Sounds to me like your blade may not have been seated properly to begin with. Try it now with the nominal settings (3-3-med) and work from there.

What kind of vinyl are you cutting a blade of 6, and high pressure? The instruction cd that comes with the expression states 3 3 3 for the kiss cut. I am just wondering if we are using the same kind of vinyl?
