Stitch made with SCAL (plus LO)

Huge thanks to Susan for posting the vector-cartoons website. I downloaded a Stitch graphic there, and then broke it apart in inkscape. This is the first time I've done anything like this in inkscape, and this is only the 4th thing I've done on SCAL. Crazy, I know, but I really wanted to try this. It took forever, but Stitch came out GREAT. I think this cut is worth the price of the program alone, since there isn't any kind of Stitch embelishment out there. I cut him at 7 1/2 inches (I only have the baby bug, so I rotated the body to cut that big.) Here he is:

Here is the layout that I used him on. The title is "Dream of Me" font, also cut with SCAL.

Hello Snowdrop.
I discovered if you save them as a wmf file instead of png or jpg all you have to do is open them in Inkscape and they are already broken apart. Hope this helps. I have been trying to prove that there are two kinds of wmf files. ONes are vector (svg) and the other is rester. The vector ones may and I say maybe all are already broken apart and all you do is open(not import) and they are ready to color if not colored(not proven yet). I love the pink panther one at that site that has a pink car. Your stitch turned out good.

Thanks guys!

GrammyKrausse-I did save the wmf file (that's what makes the vector-cartoon site so special. I can get jpg clipart anywhere!) Maybe I have the terminology wrong (since I'm an inkscape novice), but by breaking apart, I mean I had to pull away each part so that all the colors I wanted to cut were grouped together (all the light blue in one section, all the purple in another section, etc.) If I had to use a jpg/png image, and have to trace and then break apart, it would have been much tougher, and I don't think I could have done it.

kkrewtea:
I think this is the site we are talking about :) http://vector-cartoons.com/
You have to join but you can download 5 each week. Week starts on Mondays
Remember if you save them as wmf files and OPEN not import in Inkscape all you have to do is seperate each layer and it is ready to import into scal. Have fun :!:
