Make it dimensional with
contrasting paper and/or folding...

Could be used with an Americana or primitive decor, too.

Additional pics and ideas...
I know it's been awhile...but wanted to share some pics for some fun ideas with a simple design!
In these first two pics...I have layered some of the stars for a different look.
Inking brings out the depth...in the one below I've inked copper over black.
