scal 1 and inkscape 0.47 help

hi
have been looking at bluerobots tutorials. im having a problem with the snowflake one. Everytime i combine the circles and the rectangles the inner circle dissapears. is this because of the new version of ink?

Yes, that is the most likely the problem. You need to know your version of Inkscape and do the appropriate "fix", such as a path/union on circles and rectangles instead of a path/object to path.

Also remember how old SCAL1 is so that could also be a problem with Ink 0.47. An upgrade to SCAL2 would be advisable I think.

uninstalled inkscape47 and installed an older version and its still doing it. i havent got as far as importing it to scal. can't afford to upgrade at the moment. thanks for the help xxx

Not exactly sure what you are doing. In INK.47, you can draw a circle on a square (or vice versa), select both shapes, Path>Combine and you will end up with a square with a hole in it.

I haven't watched her tuts so I am not sure what's going on. If many of her tuts were created using .46, that might be where the problem lies. Some functions are different between the two version.
