lines and slits

Post by 1BethO »

Newbie here. Trying to attempt a kiragami/pop-up card. When I draw a line or slit in Inkscape and bring the svg into SCAL the lines get coverted into shapes. Is there an Inkscape tutorial on how to keep the end points of my lines from connecting? Helpful hints appreciated!

The easiest way to do this is to stroke your lines with the thinnest possible stroke and then convert the path to an object. This will give you basically a very small rectangle which is a closed object. Here is a picture of a line that is stroked and then the stroke is converted to a path. The upper line is 400 % to show the detail.

In Inkscape set your line width to whatever width you want, then use Path/Stroke to path. HTH
