what's the best way to merge....

I have two dancer files that except for the legs and skirt are similar in body positioning. I like the skirt on one better than the other. (Sorry, mom of a professional dancer makes me picky about dance art). So, I want to cut one apart at the waist and add the lower body of the other. Both are currently svg files and scut files I've worked on. What's the best way to attack this?

I like to change the color of one object so that there is good contrast between the two, then line them up where you want them. Depending on how much different the two dancers are, either draw a box over the part you don't want and use Path/Difference on the box and dancer, or use the node tool to move all of the extra nodes into the outline of the other dancer. Select both dancers, Path/Union. Use the node tool to clean up the nodes at the join. HTH

Thanks again Heather! I'll give that a try a bit later and let you know how I fare.

Thanks again, I did get them to work. I couldn't do it a second time on a different project but I think it all had to do with what was on top. Going to take a break and come back to it so I can try again and write down the order. :)
