I would love to have a curved text option. I have watched and read the tutorials about inkscape and still cannot seem to use the program.The tutorials make it look so easy just do this just do that and presto changeo curved text. I just wish it were as easy for me.

One more thing that would be nice is the slant text option that DS has. I only have a couple cartridges to use with DS, however only one font. I was checking it out one day and dicovered I could slant the text so I tried it in SCAL1/2 and found that was not an option.

I love SCAL and use it all the time. I would not own a cricut today If it weren't for the Scal.

In SCAL2 if you type in your word and look under the proportions box just look in that box that says rotate or skew... set it to skew and click on the little gray box to the right of it and it does slant your writing...

Have you checked out the Scrappydew Tutorials??? he shows how to do the curved words in youtube

Yes, I really tried to follow along it just didn't work for me. I read several others also. I chose to print out Heather M's tutorial and will try it out after my frustation level has improved in a few days. I really thank you for all your help and know I will eventually get it.

If you already know how to do curved text in an other program, you can do that and then use the Print to SVG technique to make it compatible with SCAL

I too think inkscape is challenging to use

I am very experienced with Inkscape to the point where I don't find it hard anymore, and I generally can't stand Microsoft products, but I have to say that for curved text, MSWord and its very old wordart function is my tool of choice for curved text. I find it so much easier and more flexible.
