Wall decoration - Vinyl, Felt or Velvet? Confussed!

Hi there,

I'm about to make some wall decorations for a party, and am a bit confussed regarding the materials.

For me, vinyl is a really thin self adhesive material craft peel offs are made of. Not sure this is whay you call vinyl?

Felt is thicker and fabric that I haven't found as self adhesive, so would use a glue spray or something. Can it be cut ok in the cricut?

I've also seen a very soft velvety fabric, very nice but quite expensive.

Which one of this do you use for wall decoration? :?:

I want to cut some butterflies and names.

Forgot to mention, I'm in the UK, so particular brands might be difficult to find! Hopefully I'll find some if you give me some names, but I'm more concerned about the actual material, not the brand.

Thank you!

Vinyl is normally what is used for wall decor.. With the velvet you are chancing the risk of snagging it with your blade which may cause damage.. Not to mention Velvet frays (I worked in a fabric store) so it may shed into your components in your machine...
