Hi,
I'm Pam from Walla Walla, Washington....love my hubby for buying me my cricut!
Life is GREAT!!!
Geting to know you....
Re: Geting to know you....
I am new to the board and am excited to find a forum that addresses the use of the available software with our Expression.
Since my wife got the machine, I have been looking for a way to make the Cricut more versitile by allowing me to create a file from a graphic.
My wife uses and loves her machine and does a bunch of scrapbooking and my interest is in the use of vinyl and custom cuts.
This forum seems to be well put together and run and we look forward to being able to contribute to it as we figure out the conduit between Inkscape, Sure Cuts A Lot and the Expression.
Oh, we are from the NASA area of Houston.

I love SCAL and have a lot of fun working with inkscape. I find it relaxing playing with the files and deleting node...I'm from Southern Indiana- small town called Glendale-and snowed in for the 3rd day. Of course it doesn't take much here....

I sent to soon- I am Samantha and I learned about SCAL from googling videos on Youtube after I got my E. I have a 2 yr old girl - Annabella and two teenaged sons. They keep me from cutting much- especially Bella who likes to "help". Thanks for sharing my obsession and can't wait to see what you all make!

I never did this, should have. I'm Ashley. (Hi Ashley). I'm a scrapaholic and a SAHW w/no kids.
I live in Buffalo and my dh got the expressions for my for Christmas.
He IMMEDIATELY admitted that he didn't buy it just for me, because he airbrushes and needed something to cut stencils.
I was unaware of such a program and was almost upset that I would have to spend hundreds on cartridges...but, while googling, we found SCAL and I have to say I have never bought a cartridge and now I never have to
I L-O-V-E our Expressions and L-O-V-E SCAL!! I'm having a blast in the forum too!!

I'm Laura and I live in western Nebraska though I grew up in Omaha (eastern part of the state). My husband declared my Cricut a belated 25th anniversary gift and he actually found the SCAL software while researching the Cricut cartridges...my only concern regarding owning a Cricut. I'm currently a massage therapist but previously we had been in the commercial sign business so we have a plotter that was much more money than the Cricut and not nearly as user friendly so I am thrilled with the marriage of Cricut and SCAL. Just recently found this forum board...and glad I did!
And nice to meet all of you...just read the last 8 pages!! Wow! (Hope there won't be a test!)
Thanks!

I am Jodi... I am from Pennsylvania. I have had my Cricut Create since Christmas. My boyfriend actually bought SCAL for me. He was going to surprise me with a Cricut but my mom found a better deal on it. So, I have a few cartridges, but I have yet to use most of them. I love SCAL and Inkscape...

Hello, I'm melissa and I am from iowa.
Google revealed SCAL to me... I never would have bought my Cricut if I hadn't happened upon this website!!
I was actually researching a different PC product (the YUDU, which I never bought) and somehow I found myself learning about this SCAL program.
I wasn't interested in the machine if all you could do was just cut out the limiting variety of cricut shapes and letters,
I never even thought twice as I walked by them at the craft store.
But whoops,
I found you guys and am now scurrying to try to learn as much as I can to get the hang of my new fancypants cuttin' machine.
I'm still trying to find my niche though because I'm no scrapbooker (although I've got a handful of kiddos
) and I'm not that big on cards either (have I alienated myself yet?!)
Anyway, it's great to be here and can't wait to create!!
