Judy, I just updated on of my computers directly from 2.006 to 2.010 with no problems at all. I didn't uninstall the previous version, just did the update (I don't use that computer very often ). HTH

You need to have objects selected to be able to use the Path menu. The only Path item that will work with more than two objects is Union, so if you have more than two objects selected the others will not be available. I just added a tutorial to my blog on this. Also, the icons are not in color, so that may be causing some confusion too (I'm used to the colored ones in Ink).

You might have to ungroup your image before you are able to see nodes with the "shape tool" and then just select a node you don't want and hit backspace.
