Inkscape Please help!!!!

Jancy I tried deleting the nodes but I end up deleting the whole thing instead. I had made my word, >object path> object union. Then I selected and clicked on the nodes button like you suggested. I tried clicking on a node then clicked delete, and everything disappeared??

I tried this too and everything disappeared. So I tried clicking on the node and then hitting delete on the keyboard and it worked that way...Don't ask why...

that's the only way I've every done it---so not sure why an image disappears otherwise.

make sure you select all and ungroup before you hit delete otherwise it'll delete everything.
