What do you want to know how to do in inkscape?

Ok, ladies..help me out..

Susie, when I click on "here", I get back to the homepage. What should I be clicking on? If I go to forums, I'm back here again..lol..

One of the things I'm trying to find out is taking a photo and doing a silhouette with the subject. Like say a profile of my granddaughter and then making a silhouette of her....I know with Pazzle there was a way of doing this, though I never understood it.

OK if you click on 'here' you should get taken to the products page not the home page , try refreshing your page, - then just scroll down and in the middle of the page there is a link to the tutorial.
One of the ways of making a silhouette is to take a photo of the person against a solid colour background then use the 'threshold' command in your graphics prog ( I use Paint Shop Pro) - this makes your image black; then save as jpeg, open in Inkscape, trace using the 'trace bitmap command' ( Path>trace bitmap) then save as a.svg
it takes a bit of working and your silhouette must be well defined but it is doable!

Ok I downloaded ink scape and I followed the instructions here and I welded a word!

However ... I can't find any of my dingbats or cliparts in ink scape
Also I can't rotate the letter.

Any suggestions in like 2 year old terms?

I speak 2 year old!!

*not all fonts show up in inkscape
*if you don't have those fonts/dingbats installed on your computer & have them in a folder elsewhere, you need to have that font open in a font organizer before you open inkscape. That's the only way it will show up in inkscape
*to rotate a letter: select the large arrow on the left side tool bar. click the letter once. click it again. don't double click, that will do something altogether different. when you click it the second time, you should see curved arrows surrounding your letter. use those arrows to rotate your letter.

I will try that Thank You. I did download the font thing but I haven't had the chance to play with it. All my fonts and dings are installed on my PC. I wonder why none of them are showing up. I have all my fonts!

If you have trouble with The Font Thing, try AMP Font Viewer. I had trouble with The Font Thing and just stumbled upon AMP and have had great success with it. It doesn't get alot of promotion so I try to give it a plug when I can.

Okay another silly question... I downloaded the font thing... all my fonts are there. Why did I download it? Its it supposed to help me in some way? I downloaded cause everyone else was... geez... peer pressure! lol
