I wish I could explain how to do it but in my case if it turns out it's pure luck!
It took many tries of many different shots to finally get this one. I am having difficulty with the other 2. They are getting tired of posing for pictures.
I find that their faces need to be at just the right angle to get it to come out how I want it.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments, you encourage me to keep trying. I plan to put them onto pumpkins, hollowing out the insides til they are very thin to get the glow behind the faces.
I will post pics when I get them done, if I ever do.

Thank you! I did it in Inkscape. It took allot of tries to get it. Still trying to get my other 2 kids done but their photos are not at the right angle. I will keep trying though. If you have one and cannot figure out how to do it I would be happy to try and do it for you.

Oh! You're an angel! Thanks. If I can get a good shot, I'd LOVE for you to do my newborn!

Oh that would be sooooo cute! Try to get his/her face turned to the side a little. Straight on does not look good. PM me a few different shots and I'll try. Can't make any promises cause like I said, it was allot of trial an error.

Wow.. I do LIKE the face in vinyl.. so cool Hey Nebraskans... I was born in NE in the northeastern part. My dh and I lived in Blair in the early 1970's after we were married, from 1971 until 1976, we then moved to WY. My dh's brother and his wife still live in Blair.

Small world! We first moved to Blair in 01, then moved away on two seperate occasions for my husbands job but always came back here. It is so pretty here though I do LOVE WY.
