With SCAL, you can cut fonts, dingbats, shapes from the shapes library in SCAL. You can cut SVG files that either don't need any cleaning up, or those that have been cleaned up with Inkscape. Many files are available on this forum in the SCUT and SVG folders. People find graphic files (jpg, gif, etc.) that they clean up with Inkscape and import them into SCAL and cut.

Dingbats are symbols or shapes that have been put in a font instead of letters or numbers. The term comes from typesetting. You can download fonts that contain dingbats. I have Windows XP so I copy a font or dingbat file into my C:\Windows\Fonts directory and it shows up in the fonts library in SCAL.
