What a great idea about the lights. Ikea has these wall mount lights that I have just put a plain old sheet of decorated paper over to match the room theme. NOW I will be going crazy making cutouts too. I just hope I don't get any scary shadows since my daughter uses it as a night light.

love the glass block idea..looking for projects to auction off for our animal rescue org. bennefit later this year...just ordered 10 blocks from Home Depot for 50.00....also found this site...little expensive but thought some of you might like these ...they already have the hole in them for you scrapbooker.. if you have a problem with the link below just let me know....great idea....and love your work and site !!!

Check your local Michaels as well. The one by me carries them - they are in the isle with the soap and candle making supplies along the bottom row - I think most Michaels are set up pretty much the same way

I love it too! I would love to have one of those lights! Or a dozen! What did they call them on Wal-mart.com? I couldn't find them...could you post?

I wanted to know what sort of light you found to fit threw the 5/8 hole...ordered 10 blocks but are 8 x 8 x 3 instead of by 4....saw some that looked like they had different colored lights inside the block with ribbons tied..maybe stringlights..want to make them for our animal rescue bennefit...do have a drill press and will order the bit if dad doesn't have one....also how did you fix the light so it doesn't move in and out of the whole..thanks !!! Judy

got blocks at Lowes and ordered strands of lites w/ white cord from noveltylights.com
i drilled my own holes with a glass/tile bit from Lowes too.
