Can you tell me how to cut the whiskers, is it a separate cut. driving me crazy trying to figure it out. thanks.

The wiskers on the Hello Kitty are actually on the black background layer... then the white face has cut outs so the show thru... does that make it any easier.. I had to let the concept tumble around in my head for a day or 2 before I figured it out...
