I'm just so happy Todd (Craftedge) came up with SCAL so I don't have to give Provo Craft one more dime of my money! I promote SCAL to everyone I talk to (in my scrapping world) so I figure that's my way of getting back at Provo Craft.

I am wondering if they have really figured a block for scal on the E2.
Well, if my E dies I will just buy a different brand cutter.

That's why I have a back up sitting on a shelf in my garage!

Not sure if they can actually block a program but I'm no techy so I'm sure anything is possible. Apple is able to block quite a few things from being opened/downloaded on my iPad so I'm sure it's possible. It's funny that you say you'd buy a different cutter because just this morning I was thinking the same thing. Can't live without my internet or my cutter  Oh, what slaves we are!

Actually, I started off with the little bug and then got the E. I gave my sister the little bug and now she too has an E. I told her to not get rid of the baby bug cause you never know if one of our E's will quit and even though the little bug seems antique now, it'll work until we can get another E (or different cutter).

Speaking of different cutters- I've been worrying about my E lately - wondering how long they will really last. Has anyone actually used one until it gives out? Wondering about life of product.

As for a different cutter - I've often thought about buying something other than the E, however I like having local availability of supplies (mats & blades) and I would lose that with any other machine. Maybe I need to watch prices on the E as the new one hits the market - pick up a backup!

I haven't worn mine out yet. The last big job I did cutting vinyl, the actual cutting time on the machine was almost 40 hours. Each sheet took amost an hour and I had to cut 38 sheets. I would load one sheet after another and it kept on cutting.
