what impressed you with the Cricut?
Re: what impressed you with the Cricut?
I actually bought my cricut only to cut letters for my bulletin board at school. I figured that the precut ones that I had purchased over the last 30 years would have bought me several cricuts. I have since found SCAL and this forum. Needless to say, I have used it to make games, races, vinyl wall sayings, and many other things. I have not purchased one thing for this school year. I have made my door decorations using the saying that "3rd Grade is a Blast" and cut a rocket (space ship) for each student where I will put a picture of their face in the window circle hole. There desk name is a layered earth and we have a 'Farmtown' bulletin board that each student has their own tractor the moves across the rows as they pass their multiplication framilies. My school has since gathered information on purchasing one for all teachers to use. I LOVE my Cricut!

Re: what impressed you with the Cricut?
I saw a demonstration of the Cricut Create at Michaels and thought it would be great for scrapbooking and daughters school projects. My hubby found SCALfor me and this opened a whole new world of creativity. Once I discovered all of the thing that could be made with SCAL and Cricut I decided that I needed an E machine. I have used it to make everything from school posters to gift boxes. I sold my Create to my sister and she is now using it and SCAL for cake decorating. I have 2 cartridges that I never use. I cut everything with SCAL. I don't think that I would use the Cricut very much if I did not have SCAL.
Re: what impressed you with the Cricut?
I bought the personal cricut and used it for a year, upgraded to the expression so I could do full sized pages for scrapbooking; I cannot imagine not having it. I also make cards, so the versatility of the whole thing is just fabulous. Without SCAL it is expensive but you can find the cartridges in ebay and other places on sale. I used to buy die cuts and titles etc. and now I can do so much more in the colors and papers of my choice.

Re: what impressed you with the Cricut?
I always thought the cricut was a great idea but waaaayyyy too expensive ($499 at Michaels) and then around my girls' birthday (twins) I saw them on sale for $250 at a craft store. My kids love art projects and I thought it would be a great tool for them. I did research online and found out about SCAL. With the lower price, I was motivated to buy. Unfortunately, SCAL is too complicated for them and carts are too expensive. I use the machine, but they don't. I think the kids would use it more if I had more carts. I bought a couple for $20 that were on sale at Walmart. I would buy more carts if they weren't so ridiculously priced.
