I am new to SCAL. Please tell me the process to save these butterfly files. When I open one, it opens in Paint Pro. Then I don't know what to do with it. If I say save as, it doesn't have a svg. extension. I'm so "cornfused" HELP!! If you could tell me step by step what to do, I would be very appreciative. I have to start someplace, right? Thanks in advance.

These are files that can be imported into SCAL. When you click on the file and save it. Make sure you know which directory you saved in. Open SCAL, then File>Import svg.
The file will open so you can cut it. If you want to modify the file, you will need a different program. I use Inkscape, a free vector editor.

I have a file on my hard drive named cricut. In it, I have sub folders...zipped, svg, and scut. When I download a file, I put it in the appropriate folder. As I downloaded more and more, I found it necessary to break the folders into subfolders...i.e. Christmas, Easter, Bugs, Butterflies, etc. If I can't decide on what folder it belongs in, I just put it in the main folder (zipped, svg, or scut) and decide later or when I get more that are the same category.
Hope this helps. This also makes it much easier to back up to my external drive for safety.
